Prepare with confidence

More than a set of explanations.

Model the ideas

Visual explanations, worked examples and click-to-reveal sequences help you guide the discussion.

Teach with guidance

Speaker notes throughout support questioning and delivery. Use the vocabulary, retrieval and misconception checks as you teach.

Move from practice to exam answers

Foundation, Secure and Stretch tasks sit alongside command-word guidance, exam practice and mark schemes in every deck.

Keep the original teaching files

Download all seven editable PowerPoints in one ZIP, with a read-me file and a secure online quick-start guide.

Present in PowerPoint Slide Show mode

Use Microsoft PowerPoint for the intended animation and answer reveals. Read the speaker notes before teaching, and spread each topic across sessions as needed.

The complete pack covers unit 1.2. Each licence includes all seven PowerPoints. Other OCR units are listed separately.

Before you purchase

Useful details

Does the price include all seven PowerPoints?

Yes. The individual learner price of £24.99 / AED 125 covers the complete unit 1.2 pack with all seven PowerPoints, 205 slides and the pack guide. Tutor and department licence prices also apply to the complete pack. You choose the licence for your setting; there is no separate charge for each deck.

Which OCR paper and sections does this cover?

This is OCR GCSE Computer Science J277, Component 01 / Paper 1: Computer systems, unit 1.2 Memory and storage. It covers sections 1.2.1 Primary storage, 1.2.2 Secondary storage, 1.2.3 Units, 1.2.4 Data storage and 1.2.5 Compression. Numbers, characters, and images and sound are three teaching decks within official section 1.2.4. The a/b/c letters in their filenames organise those parts.

What exactly will I receive?

One ZIP download contains the seven original editable .pptx files and a read-me file. There are 205 slides with speaker notes throughout, including 145 slides with animation. Each deck includes activities, exam practice with answers and a one-page knowledge organiser. Your secure resource area also includes an online quick-start guide.

Are the PowerPoints different for teachers, tutors and home educators?

The teaching content is the same. Choose Individual learner for one named student, Tutor / single teacher for one educator with their own students, or School / department for multiple educators in one school department. Price and sharing permissions depend on the licence. Every option includes all seven PowerPoints.

Can I use the pack for home education?

Yes, with a parent or tutor guiding the learning. Work through the explanations, pause for learners to attempt the tasks and calculations, then reveal and discuss the answers. Pacing is flexible, so a topic can run across more than one session. The pack is a guided teaching resource.

Which software should I use?

Use Microsoft PowerPoint in Slide Show mode for the intended animations, answer reveals and route-map navigation. Click or press the space bar to move through the reveals. Other presentation viewers may change the layout or interactions. Editing view can expose answers, so present in Slide Show mode when teaching.

Does OCR require students to carry out compression algorithms?

The focus is why compression is useful, lossy and lossless compression, their benefits and limitations, and choosing between them. The deck labels its lossless-method demonstration as for understanding only. OCR does not require learners to carry out a specific compression algorithm.

How do I get access after purchase?

Choose your licence and send the pre-filled enquiry. We confirm permitted use, the price and payment details before payment. After payment is confirmed, the pack is made available through your secure My Resources account. The complete teaching files are delivered privately.
